Race Of The Day June 11, 2018 Delaware Park Race 7 By: Paul Hundley (@virginiaslim67)

Delaware Park Race 7

1 mile & 70 yards (Turf)

Optional Claiming $16Kn1x

Fillies & Mares 3 & up

Purse: $36,000

We have an overflow field of 14 today(1 MTO, 2 AE) in this race from Wilmington, Delaware. Hoping this stays on the turf as it appears evenly matched with several in here having a realistic chance of ending up in the winners circle.

Pace Scenario: It appears 5-She’s Lovely will probably be the early leader in here if her last race is any indication. Sprinted out to an 8 length lead at first call and had triple digit E1 and E2 pace figures en route to a comfortable 6 length gate to wire win. 8-Going Out could be a lot closer to the early pace today as she puts Blinkers On and gets Lasix for the first time for Trainer Michael Matz. 13-Monte Crista was close to pace very early and cruised to a 4 length win last out at Laurel. Even though listed as Also Eligible, gets in as long as it stays on turf because the MTO scratches. If the race collapses on the front end, 12-Madame Milan might be the most likely benefactor.

Main Contenders:

1-History Made has been less than 5-1 all 4 career starts including 2.9/1 at Tampa last out in a $75K OC. Will be stalking/off the pace. 2-Old Florida also ran in a pair of OC’s at Tampa for Tom Proctor. This closer has been in the money 4 of last 5. 3-Sophia Is an Angel is another who will be coming from off the pace but could be a bit overmatched. 4-She Doesn’t Mind has not returned to run the same speed figures as when she ran in 2016 in New York. Has not had good breaks in either of her 2018 starts however. Have a feeling if she gets a decent break will be stalking early leader. 5-She’s Lovely ran career best last out but steps up in class today. Trainer Victor Carrasco 22% with winners of their last race. 6-Increased Scrutiny comes in off a pair of runner-up finishes at Tampa while stalking the pace. 7-Aciano hasn’t raced since October and 1st race outside Woodbine. Makes 1st start for Kelly Rubley and probably coming from slightly off the pace. 8-Going Out been beaten 57 lengths but both of those were on dirt. Only turf run was a nice 2nd here last year. 9-Vindictive Ways is MTO. 10-Maya Malibu makes turf debut and is a pretty interesting runner, having been multiple Grade 1 placed last year in Spinaway and Frizette. Trained by Graham Motion and ridden by Jorge Vargas, who is 21% on turf this year. Can’t see her staying 10-1. 11-Bidding Circle is ML favorite and does have a good closing run. Comes off a decent 4th at Monmouth on Kentucky Derby day. 12-Madame Milan ITM all 4 career starts for Delacour. 13-Monte Crista looked great in turf debut last out but should beware of challenging 5 to hard for early lead. 14-Lovely Sunset has been decent on turf but Mark Shuman is just 6% second off the layoff.

Selections: Though I’m certain she won’t be 10-1, anything above half that price makes 10-MAYA MALIBU good value. Will play her $5 Win, $10 Place.

Playing a $1 Key Box: 10/4,5,8,12,13
