Breeders’ Cup Thoughts, by @gofilly

Race 6 Juvenile Filly Turf 7-12-2-11
*Capla Temptress won very impressively at Woodbine, she rated off the pace, split horses and got her nose to the wire with a quick burst of speed in the lane – seemed to over take Dixie Moon easily and believe she has more in the tank, loves a firm course that’s why she came here as her prep for this one – Barry Irwin was very high on her and I see why. Dixie Moon has since come back to wire a field of males at a longer distance, flatters my top selection and think this will be an interesting rematch between the two as they both should move forward – Dixie Moon does get the comeback to a mile however she isn’t the only speed so will have to be careful on the front end, especially with that outside post to contend with, 20-1 is incredible. Happily is also a logical contender, she has had a very solid year so far and figures to run well – won at this distance last out. Also including Rushing Fall, this lightly raced daughter of more Than Ready has been brilliant and is only making her third career start for Chad Brown.
Friday Race 8 Juvenile Turf 8-12-9-6
*Pickle – that’s what this race is I have gone so many different ways, reset and started over lol Settled on Voting Control, lightly raced son of Kitten’s Joy, he has won at this distance but will be pace dependant as he is a closer. Hemp Hemp Hurray I think ran the best out of the Summer Stakes here and think he is dangerous on the lead since there isn’t much pace in here – may just steal it so a must use for me. Encumbered tried dirt last out – did not go well and is now back to his preferred surface where he has two wins over this course at this distance – he will also come running late. Masar last ran third to Happily at Chantilly it was at this distance over a soft ground but has had success on firmer turf.
